Your Mountain Guide Dale Crockatt lived on Mt. Hood since 1972, until recently purchasing a home with Sandi in Sandy. Dale purchased his first home in 1977, a 1929 creekside cabin in Rhododendron, that he recently restored and updated. Dale dedicated himself to the mountain, working construction, maintenance, surveying, marketing and Ski Patrol for Timberline Lodge and Mt. Hood Meadows until 1986. As Ski Patrol Director for Timberline Lodge, Dale oversaw the development of year-round skiing on the newly built Palmer Chairlift. Dale started guiding on Mt. Hood soon after his first climb at the age of 16 and worked numerous search and rescues as liaison for the Clackamas County Sheriff and as a spotter for the 304th Airborne Rescue. With an interest in photography since the age of ten, the mountain provided endless opportunity to capture the many moods of Mt. Hood. In 1985, Dale bought an early model professional video system, filming special events and ski races. He has worked as a technical consultant and location scout for national advertising for Ford, Chevrolet, Subaru, Powder Magazine and other regional clients. His photography has been featured by all the local resorts, the Hoodland Chamber of Commerce, and Clackamas County. He has also written articles on mountain safety for The Oregonian and Bergfreunde Ski Club. Dale’s credentials include ABR– Accredited Buyer Representative, CRS- Certified Residential Specialist and GRI– Graduate of the Realtor Institute. In 2004 he will complete his E-Pro designation. Dale has been in the “Top 10%” of over 280 agents in twelve offices of Oregon Realty from 2001-2003. In 2004 he was one of the "Top Ten" agents within the company. Always more than you expect! Born and raised on Mt. Hood, Sandi Strader knows well the special qualities of life her clients are searching for when they come to this area. Walks in the woods, playing in the creek, climbing trees and close relationships with her two sisters and family formed a strong foundation for her future. Shana graduated 2003 from Oregon Health & Science University as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist and now works at Mid Columbia Hospital. Shana married Mike Hay at Timberline Lodge in 2007. Shana and Mike have made their home in Hood River. Sandi's parents have lived in the same home on Sleepy Hollow Drive since 1946, and have been involved with many facets of the local area over the years. Her father is a retired contractor, which provided Sandi early experience with construction, the roots of real estate. Sandi's professional background focused on financial management, being a Regional Credit Manager for Nike and previously with Portland General Electric. Sandi has owned her own businesses since 1984.
